Just as when God spoke to the “chaos” (formless) of the darkness and light appeared, it is the same in our lives. The “light” came to abide in us in the person of the Holy Spirit at salvation and to teach us how to walk in the light and to separate the “darkness” of our fleshly desires from our lives so that God’s glorious light is produced in us by seeing Jesus in our walk who is the light! (John 1:4; 8:12; 9:5)
Let me take this one step further. What is the purpose of the moon? It is solely to reflect the light of the sun. We were as the moon, dark with no purpose of good. But when we met Yeshua, Jesus Christ the Son of God and repented of our sins, we turned from the darkness and now became a reflection of God’s Son! At this point the following verse begins to describe the purpose of our lives, “He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.” (Colossians 1:18)
Unlike the sun, the moon isn’t always “full”. Sometimes we see a full moon, other times we might see a partial moon and other times we see an eclipse where it totally disappears for a time. Unfortunately, these descriptions seem to be fitting descriptions of our walk with Christ while here on earth. But that was not God’s intention. The similarity between our being a reflection of the Son, as the moon reflects the sun, stops right there!
God designed the moon, the sun, the stars and the solar system to witness to all of the world HIs glory! “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; it rejoices as a strong man to run his course. Its rising is from one end of the heavens, and its circuit to the other end of them; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.” (Psalm 19:1-6) Wow! Open your heart to the fullness of this truth. Everything in the heavens is declaring times and seasons of God’s plan! Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;” (Genesis 1:14) “It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands and I ordained all their host.” (Isaiah 45:12)
We, however, have been designed by God to also declare His glory, but in a different way. Scripture clearly commands us to NOT hide God’s light. This was something so important that the Holy Spirit compelled Matthew, Mark and Luke to all record this truth. It isn’t a suggestion, it is a command. “nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” (Matthew 5:15) And He was saying to them, “A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, is it, or under a bed? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?” (Mark 4:21) “No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.” (Luke 11:33)
Notice that the lighting of the lamp is always mentioned as well. How was the lamp lit to produce light? The lamp was filled with oil. Oil in the scriptures refers to the Holy Spirit. Jesus also warned us what would happen if we neglected the Holy Spirit so that the darkness could overtake us. “Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’” (Matthew 25:1-12)
If I were to ask you the question of whether or not you reflected the Son in your daily walk, the many would probably reply very quickly “yes”, others would honestly stop and think about the question in the light of God’s Word. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” (Psalm 139:23-24) If you chose this latter response I suspect that you are one who is intimate with the Lord and have a heart sensitive to the Spirit of God. You are acutely aware that without the leading of the Holy Spirit you cannot do or say anything that is of value. Oh it may sound like good wisdom and make you look good, but if it is not God’s will, it is all vanity and will account as loss at judgment. (Ecclesiastes 1:14)
For those who abide in the Spirit it’s not hard to see that nations have gone astray and evil is present all around us. Notice I didn’t say those who believe in Jesus. Why? In addition to the nations, our churches have entered into a great darkness and deception having clothed themselves as light becoming false prophets and apostles going out declaring things that are not of God. But Satan is the great deceiver and knows the Word of God so he is cleverly disguising his works in the church to be “reflections of God’s will”. “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.” ( 2 Corinthians 11:13-15) Isaiah 14:4 – Satan proclaims “…I will make myself like the Most High!” A COUNTERFEIT LOOKS LIKE THE REAL THING! But if you are a true student of the Word, and are intimate with the Lord, you will have a check in your spirit that the things being proclaimed are not from God. Oh, they will happen and many will be lead astray and they won’t be lead by the Spirit! Unfortunately they will be convinced that they are being led by the Spirit!
LET ME GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE OF JUST ONE FALSE TEACHING:
Are you in a church that is teaching that God no longer has a covenant with Israel? That He has forsaken Israel? That His promises to Israel no longer exist? Maybe even worse, that the New Testament church has replaced Israel? That the Old Testament does not apply to us? Do they teach that Israel is not a country? That Israel has no right to the land that God gave them? I have to be honest with you and say that I truly cannot understand how anyone who says they have received salvation can even entertain these lies. It grieves me greatly when I see and hear of the hatred of the Jewish people. Many will justify their position by saying that Israel is a secular nation today. May I ask you a question? Honestly, I am not being sarcastic, but when did God step down from His throne and appoint His replacement to judge His creation? Where did the authority to declare that God’s Word is null and void come from concerning Israel? It did not come from God who created the entire universe!
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THESE NEW TESTAMENTS DECLARATIONS ON THE CHURCH’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL?
The New Testament speaks of the Church's relationship to Israel and her covenants as being "grafted in" (Romans 11:17), "brought near" (Ephesians 2:13), "Abraham's offspring (by faith)" (Romans 4:16), and "partakers" (Romans 15:27), NOT as usurpers of the covenant and a replacer of physical Israel. We Gentile Christians joined into what God had been doing in Israel, and God did not break His covenant promises with Israel. The clear teaching of the New Testament is that the Church was and is to love and honor the Jewish people. In Ephesians 2:11-18, we are told that "by the blood of Messiah," we Gentiles are "made near" to the commonwealth of Israel, the covenants, promises and hopes given to Israel. In Romans 11:11-12, 25, we are told that "blindness in part" has come to the Jews so that the message would be forced out into the nations. Nevertheless, we are told that a time would come when "all Israel would be saved" (v. 26), because the gifts and callings of God towards Israel and the Jewish people irrevocable (v. 29). God's relationship with Israel and the Jewish people is everlasting.
God made an everlasting covenant between the land of Israel and the Jewish people that must be fulfilled and completed or His Word, the Bible, will be proven a lie, which it is not. God will never forget or annul His covenant with the Israelites. If God will not fulfill His promises to Israel, what guarantee do we have that He will fulfill His promises to the Church? (See Jeremiah 31:35-37)
- The Jews are Israelites, not Gentiles (Romans 9:4).
- To Israel still belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship and the promises (Romans 9:4).
- The gifts and calling of God for Israel are irrevocable (Romans 11:29).
- There are 77 references to Israel in the NT and none of them refer to the Church. Try replacing the words, "the Church," where Israel is mentioned and the passage is rendered unreadable and silly, e.g., Romans 10:1, "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved." If you put "the Church" where Israel is mentioned, then it is redundant. The Church is the body of saved believers, so how could Paul's prayer be for the Church to be saved?
- Psalm 105 has a seven-fold affirmation of God's promises of Canaan to Abraham. This is an everlasting promise, as was Genesis 12:1-3.
- Jeremiah 31:35-37 speaks of the everlasting nature of God's promises to and for Israel, the Jewish people, which is as sure as the sun that shines by day and the moon and stars that glow in the night.
- The end-time prophecies, which speak of the return of the House of Jacob to their land (Israel) and its restoration, have overwhelmingly been fulfilled in Israel and the Jewish people in the past 68 years. (See Daniel 7; 13,14; Isaiah 11:11-12; Ezekiel 37:1-14; Ezekiel 36; Ezekiel 35:1, Isaiah 43:5,6; Jeremiah 16:14-16; Isaiah 60:9-11; Isaiah 49:22-23, Zechariah 14:2-4,9 etc.)
What does the Holy Spirit declare in the book of Revelation about changing what is written in the Word of God? Slowly read these words from the Apostle John who was given the “revelation” of the End Times, the Millennial Kingdom and the New Heavens and New Earth, “I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)
Listen to these words spoken to Isaiah, “But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.” (Isaiah 43:1-2)
There is a very long list of VERY well known “Christian” pastors and authors who are promoting Eastern Meditation as prayer. According to scripture that is praying to a false god so it is idol worship which is sin. Even more dangerous is that it will open up spiritual windows of deception which will begin to lure you to places of evil and deception that can cause great harm. But they have changed the name of the practice and are telling people that it has opened up a closeness with God that they never experienced before! They may be having a spiritual experience, but it is not from God. This deceptive prayer is now leading thousands into declaring that the written Word is not God inspired and that there are many roads leading to God. “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;” (2 Timothy 3:16) Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6) “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,” (1 Timothy 4:1) Keep in mind 2 Corinthians 11:15, “Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.”
Again, we are being deceived in the practice of yoga. Yoga is an eastern meditation practice, but “Christians” have changed the words in the meditation and therefore call it “Christian yoga”! It is still a mantra and the spirit behind it has not changed. I also learned recently that even the postures assumed in this practice have a specific purpose to align oneself to be in tune with the spirit. The following is a quote from Lighthouse Trails Research that best explains this. “The physical exercises, themselves a religious Hindu ritual, are designed to bring a person into contact with spiritual beings.” Spiritual beings? No thank you! I challenge you to take this matter seriously because it is even being taught in our elementary schools! Are your children being taught this practice? Were you even notified or given the opportunity to decline participation? I seriously doubt it because teachers are using it under the guise of teaching the children to become calm and help manage the class!
For those reading this website I am pretty sure I know the answer you would give to the following question, but bear with me as we walk through a very REAL false teaching (apostasy) that is becoming very prevalent in our mainstream churches. Would you accept the following thought from a very well known writer of devotional books Henri Nouwen? "Today I personally believe that while Jesus came to open the door to God's house, all human beings can walk through that door, whether they know about Jesus or not. Today I see it as my call to help every person claim his or her own way to God." You would answer, “absolutely not!” Yet take a look at these alarming statistics. "Many pastors and professors are greatly attracted to his [Nouwen's} deep thinking. In fact, one of his biographers revealed that in a 1994 survey of 3,400 U.S. Protestant church leaders, Nouwen ranked second only to Billy Graham in influence among them." Concerning the “contemplative meditation” we just discussed, Nouwen is quoted often by many well known evangelical leaders concerning contemplative prayer based on Easter meditation! THIS IS A CLEAR SIGN OF WHAT THE SCRIPTURES CALL “FALLING AWAY” IN THE LAST DAYS. 1 Timothy 4:1, “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,”
Let me give you another example that many thought was harmless. Years ago we started seeing books, movies and even Christian leaders targeting young women that they needed to build up their “self-esteem”. Where in scripture do you read of God telling us to look within ourselves and to build ourselves up? To love ourselves first and foremost? Instead, in Scripture we are told, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” (Deuteronomy 6:5) “So take diligent heed to yourselves to love the LORD your God.” (Joshua 23:11) “May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.” (2 Thessalonians 3:5) “And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.”’ (Matthew 22:37) “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” (Galatians 2:20) “For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me,...” (Romans 15:18) “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” (Ephesians 5:1-2) “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2) “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11) “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.” (Matthew 11:29) “When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.” (Proverbs 11:2) “It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly Than to divide the spoil with the proud.” (Proverbs 16:19) “You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” (1 Peter 5:5) “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time," (1 Peter 5:6) “Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.” (James 4:10)
Does your church have a celebration the day before Easter and have the Easter bunny and egg hunts and games for the kids? I challenge you to seriously check out the facts about the term “Easter”. It has nothing to do with the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead!
Does your church have Santa Claus at the Christmas party? Again, Santa may have been a nice guy who gave gifts to the poor, but the Christmas that Christians celebrate is no way connected with the Bible and the true virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
Do you really think that these things please God? Have you ever read these scriptures? “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) “I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, nor My praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8) “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; for how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another.” (Isaiah 48:11)
No wonder our children are confused and have a shaky foundation on which they stand! We are losing our children to drugs and alcohol because they are seeking to feel good about themselves and have no idea what is true and what is deception! The Word of God is no longer the foundation of our homes so it follows that it is no longer the foundation of our country! “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25) Where are godly leaders? Even many of our church leaders have fallen for the corrupt deceit and no longer teach the truth. They are teaching a “new gospel” that will tickle ears! “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,” (2 Timothy 4:3) The following verse applies to all, even those who call themselves Christian pastors and leaders. The abuse in position is one that God will deal with at the judgment but these things have led many astray to their demise. “For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,” (2 Timothy 3:2)
As sad and frustrating as this is, I encourage you to press into the One and Only God, The Almighty, Lord of lords and King of kings. None of this surprises Him, He has already written to warn us and to encourage us to stay firm in Him as trials and persecutions come. And my dear friends, persecution will be coming much sooner than you may think. We’ve already seen the beginning of believers losing their livelihoods and even their lives because they stood on biblical principles. This is only the beginning. I do not want to be remiss and not mention that there are a very few Godly elected officials, true believers, who are standing up in our government and presenting bills that are right and just in the eyes of God. We need to pray for these as they are being held up as examples of wrong and the enemy has his army ready to attack as soon as they announcement is made of the righteous law.
For the righteous one it is a spiritual battle that will, indeed, affect our flesh. But for the enemies of God it is a full fledged physical battle that is being launched. And one of the first things that we will see affected is our economy. They are determined to destroy capitalism and free trade and turn our country into a socialist/communist system that has proven to be failures in all countries who have established it . While we are the ones being accused of being “narrow minded” and hateful, they are the ones who will do everything in their power to silence us. They are the ONLY VOICE that will be tolerated.
This is a somber message but one that needs to be given. Just believing in Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Sent One is not enough. You will fall when the trials come. You can’t depend on someone else to take care of you. There is only One who can help us. He will keep us. We may die, but He will keep us protected because we have already submitted to His Lordship in our lives. Have you truly surrendered your life to Him? Is He really the Lord of your life? Is He your closest friend? Is He your Bridegroom?
Does He have full reign in your life? When He speaks do you respond? There’s the bottom line, there is no Jesus plus your will. When “your will” takes over are you quickly convicted of sin and repent? Do you spend time in Scripture? Do you have private worship time with the Lord? Dear ones, if you answered no to these questions, what do you base your “relationship” on? Is your foundation built on sand? “But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.” (Luke 6:49)
“and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14) Can God heal our land? Yes, absolutely! Will he? I can’t answer that. Have we gone too far and He has removed His hand? Possibly, it seems so. But He does instruct us to pray nevertheless. But FIRST, we need to be right before God so He will hear us!
Obedience to the Lord is not a suggestion. If a person cannot submit to the Word of God while on earth, he will not be able to submit to Him in eternity. The same with worship. How can we not worship the One who sacrificed His life to make us heirs to His kingdom? Both of these acts lift up the Holy One of Israel. They are not so that we can be exalted or be recognized. They are not to make us feel good, they are essential to drawing close in a covenant relationship with the Almighty God and our Messiah, Jesus Christ who will reign in eternity! “How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?” (John 5:44) This truly is a word that should be taken seriously. God knows the intentions of our hearts better than we do. Are the good deeds you do done in the public eye so that others may see them and lift you up? Are you doing what a vast majority of people do, doing good deeds and dragging God along and asking God to bless the work of YOUR hands? Beloved, that is not necessary! God loves when we bless others but there is something even more important that must come first. The Apostle Paul gives us a clear understanding of God’s plan for our lives. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Isaiah 33:6 states, ‘And He will be the stability of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is his treasure.” “Who is among you that fears the LORD, that obeys the voice of His servant, that walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.” (Isaiah 50:10) Notice the order of the words in bold lettering in the previous scripture. Fear isn’t only recognizing God as holy, He is the Holy One! But it is being “in love” with Him to the degree that it truly grieves your heart when you have sinned. You “fear” to hurt the One you love! When you have that kind of love for Him you will desire and want to obey His commands. You will trust Him even when there appears to be no possible way that things can be changed.
Can this be said of your life and relationship with the Lord? These three verses from the lips of our Lord are what He desires from us first and foremost! John 14:15, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:21, "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." John 14:23, Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.”
What do we base that trust on? His Word! We know that God’s Word is true! I love these two verses, they summarize the character of God so well. “Also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.” (1 Samuel 15:29) “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19) And because God hasn’t changed, He is still in covenant with both Jews and Gentiles, He is the same today as He was yesterday and He will be the same tomorrow! “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) How can we not love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind?
God assures us that He will not lose sight of us, or forget us. His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:9) and as we trust in Him we often have to wait to see the outcome, “...Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame.” (Isaiah 49:23) I remember the first time I read the following verse, I was so excited! In my mind it is hard to comprehend, but I know it is true because God says so! “Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;...” (Isaiah 49:16) Inscribed is written, more accurately engraved! You and I are literally engraved on the palm of His hand! God loves each one who submits his life to His authority so much that He engraves our name in the palm of His hand. When I think of the palm of His hand, I see a nail scarred hand. A hand that was pierced in the cruelest way possible to inflict enormous pain, and yet His blood ran red and covers me to bring redemption and new life! How can I not love Him and obey Him?
Furthermore He tells everyone who believes, ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10) “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.” (Isaiah 26:3-4)
I have to admit to you that this was not an easy devotional piece to write, I struggled with it. Not because God wasn’t leading me in the way, but because it was such a difficult message to give. My heart has been burdened by the Lord to the many who are truly desiring an intimate relationship with Him and are not finding it in the churches. They want to obey the words of scripture which tells us to not neglect the fellowship of believers (Hebrews 10:25) but all they are encountering is false teaching. God wants you to know that He hears you, just as He heard the remnant in Israel so many years ago, “Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name. They will be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” (Malachi 3:16-17)
I truly want to hear from you. I believe that God wants to bring us together to encourage one another and share His life to bind us together and bring Him glory as we draw into real intimacy with Him and He builds up our faith to stand firm in Him. I will close with a few more scriptures that He has laid on my heart this week to encourage you.“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness and will not turn back, that to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.” (Isaiah 45:22-23)
“Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;” (Isaiah 46:9-10) There is no purpose of man or Satan that will succeed. God laughs at the foolishness of man’s wisdom and the plans of His hands. The last days are first and foremost to give everyone myriad opportunities to repent and turn to Him so that He can redeem them. His wrath is for those who reject Him. He desires for all to be saved but there are those who will refuse, “who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4)
We have been clearly been warned by the faithful apostles so that we should not stumble. Please heed their words today that you might live! “You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness,” (2 Peter 3:17) “Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.” (Hebrews 3:12)
To summarize all that the Lord has laid on my heart this week, I believe the following verse states it well, “For My hand made all these things, thus all these things came into being,” declares the LORD. “But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.” (Isaiah 66:2)
My dear Abba, I am humbled this day as I write these words. You are the Almighty One! You created man (and woman) because You wanted to be in relationship with us, yet we have become like those who never knew You! Oh how my heart grieves. Throughout Your word we see the folly of man and the destruction that comes from our pride. Forgive us our sins! Thank You for hearing Your lowly ones who have remained faithful and are seeking Your truth, who have not taken the broad path that leads to destruction, that are not seeking just for signs and wonders, but are seeking a true and pure relationship with You through Yeshua, the Sent One who shed His blood to redeem us. Thank You that You are watching over us and will give us Your grace and strength at the times we need it most because You are faithful and true. I love You with all my heart! This I pray through the blessed name of Yeshua, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior to the glory of God our Father. Amen.
I want to thank my dear brother Esher who helped me write this devotional. Many of you are aware that the Lord blessed him greatly years ago by giving him a ministry through the Song of Solomon. Please go to his website if you haven't been there and you will be greatly blessed in being led to an intimate relationship with the Lord God. The link is www.songofsolomondevotional.com. I have one last request of you my dear brothers and sisters. My dear brother is going into surgery tomorrow, April 7th. Please pray for the surgical team that will be attending to him, pray for my dear brother's family and for God's will to be done. We pray for healing and a testimony of the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to all those in the hospital, but also a testimony of His healing power! We know that it is not by our might, nor by our power but by the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6)! We bow our knees before You Jehovah Rapha, the Holy One of Israel. My dear brother Esher's life is in Your hands. May Your will be done. This we pray in the blessed name of Yeshua, the Sent One who shed His blood that we might be free of sin and death. Thank You that Your ways are not our ways and that You hold all things together for Your good! We love You! Amen.
