The bride is so excited to be in His presence, she extols His beauty and the sweetness of His life being poured out to her. She longs to run with Him, to go where He goes, be a part of His ministry, to bless others. But all of a sudden she points out her physical defects, trying to explain why she doesn’t look like the rest of the women, she’s not as pretty, her background is so different from theirs, she hasn’t fulfilled her responsibilities because she’s had to take care of everyone else.
Ever been there? I remember when I first started walking closely with the Lord and I was asked if I would lead a Bible study. There was no way! After all, I wasn’t a southern belle with this sweet little accent! The only part I had down was that I was petite. I disqualified myself because I didn’t meet the standards of the women I saw in leadership. Everyone seemed to have perfect children, perfect husbands, and a sure calling of ministry. I was so intimidated that I couldn’t see past the present moment.
As I write this, the song He Touched Me started playing. That’s what changed me, my Bridegroom. He began to touch those places in me where there was doubt and replaced it with truth. It wasn’t overnight, it was a journey like the bride in the Song.
Today I still do not have a sweet, soft southern accent. I am who God created me to be, still learning, still growing in His grace, mercy, compassion and love. One thing that He’s really laid on my heart is to be real so others see Him, not me, and to know that if He can work through me, He can work through them.
Especially as women, we need to come together and walk alongside one another. Lifting one another up, being in the same flock, protecting, teaching, comforting and loving one another as Christ has called us to be, this is our ministry. It is the most important platform there is, to help each other live life in the joy and freedom that is Christ.
I pray that as we begin this journey together, we will link arms to become a mighty fortress in the name of Yeshua for others to run into and be saved, healed and delivered.
May He, indeed, kiss you with the kisses of His mouth today and everyday so that you are transformed into His likeness, not because of who you are, but because of who He is!
As we begin this journey together, I want to praise You and thank You for Your lovingkindness which fills us with Your love, to live and move and have our being in You! As we gather together to share our love with You today, open the eyes of our hearts to see in each other the wonderful gift of life You have bestowed on each of us and to celebrate Your presence in our lives. Without You, we are lost eternally, but we can also “lose” our way through the trials and challenges of the day, but You have already laid out our path, so as we look unto You, the author and finisher of our faith. May You be glorified in and through us this day. You are great and greatly to be praised! We love and adore You! Amen!
At His feet,
