I Am With You

Usually when there is a week between postings I am writing, listening, revising and doing it all over again! When I hear the Holy Spirit speak I sometimes get so carried away that you would never follow what He is saying if I didn’t work this way!

But today is different. It’s been a difficult week physically and today is a day that I can finally rest in Him. As I’ve been in His Word, listening, praying and meditating, I’ve been writing down scriptures and any thoughts He is speaking to me.

But that rest also feels heavy today and I wasn’t totally sure why. So as I was catching up on corresponding with some of my beautiful surrendered brides and ready to write down some of the scriptures that have stood out to me this week that the Spirit was telling me to meditate on, I turned to my email and received an urgent prayer request because of the word of an impending attack on US soil by ISIS. We know that these warnings have become more and more recent this, this one actually has the US officials taking action. Now I understand the heaviness.

So I turned to the scriptures the Holy Spirit highlighted this morning! Here is the first one:

‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10)

I do not believe that this scripture applies to the country.  I believe God is speaking specifically to His bride who has been preparing herself through surrender, obedience and love for Jesus Christ, our Bridegroom.

Please listen carefully to the two questions the Spirit lead me to write down this week to ask. The answers to these questions will quickly point to whether or not you are one of the surrendered brides. This is important because it is not too late to ask for forgiveness, repent and turn to Him for instruction. I must repeat again His word  leaves us without an excuse: “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14) “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” (John 14:15) “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:3)

Now here are the questions:
  1. If you were asked to list the desires of your heart, what would they be?
  2. What excites you?
  3. What are the things in your life you can’t wait to share with others?

Did the answers to those questions in any way point to an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ? No? Listen to what the Lord spoke to His people, Israel, many years ago. He’s asking you and me the exact same questions today!

“To whom then will you liken Me
That I would be his equal?” says the Holy One.”
(Isaiah 40:25)

“To whom then will you liken God?
Or what likeness will you compare with Him?”
(Isaiah 40:18)

Listen to the heart of our Father in the following verses that express His love and desire for intimacy with us.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:26-27)

“Your hands made me and fashioned me;...” (Psalm 119:73)

‘Your hands fashioned and made me altogether,...” (Job 10:8)

David praised the Lord - “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14)

“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.” (Psalm 139:16-18)

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

(John 1:12-13)

“Put me like a seal over your heart,
Like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy is as severe as Sheol;
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
The very flame of the LORD.
“Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor will rivers overflow it;
If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love,
It would be utterly despised.”
(Song of Solomon 8:6-7)

So what is our response? I’ve noted a few that the Spirit highlighted to me this morning just in a portion of Psalm 119!

“Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine. I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, because I have observed Your precepts.” (Psalm 119:98-100)

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

“You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.” (Psalm 119:114)

“My flesh trembles for fear of You,
And I am afraid of Your judgments.”
 (Psalm 119:120)

I highly encourage you to stop right now and read Psalm 119, pray over it, praise God in it and then wait for the Spirit to begin to give you direction for healing in your life so that you can enter into His rest with rejoicing! This particular song is so full of love and surrender and adoration for the Almighty Lord God. I love how it challenges us to reflect on our relationship to see if our hearts truly have that zeal, passion, love, adoration and worship for our Lord!

I have found myself quickly being convicted of the smallest things during the day that do not edify the Lord, so I have been learning over the years to make real the following verses:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.”
(Psalm 139:23-24)

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”
(Psalm 19:14)

“One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD
And to meditate in His temple.”
(Psalm 27:4)

“My mouth will speak wisdom,
And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.”
(Psalm 49:3)

I have heard people say that they had plenty of time to make a decision for the Lord. Loved ones, I do not believe that is the case. I have no idea when the Lord will descend but my greatest fear in life is that I am not worthy to be His. That is not a legalistic statement. That is an honest truth, that I know that He is my All in all and my desire is to give Him the love He both desires and deserves! He is so worthy! Perfect love casts out all fear and my desire is to be a vessel purged of the world’s sin. (I John 4:18)

Jesus spoke these words to John: ‘But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” (Revelation 2:4) I do not want to ever hear those words! I cannot even express my desire for Him in adequate words. But I leave you today with this challenge to take time apart from your busy schedules and let the Spirit search your heart and shine light into the darkness that you might be saved, healed and delivered!

Almighty God, You are so faithful and true. I love You so much! I love because You first loved me! (I John 4:19) I bow my knees before You today. Thank You that You are the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). You are the lamp that lights my way and the light that guides my feet to not turn to the right or the left on my own understanding! May Your left hand be under my head and Your right hand embrace me! (Song of Solomon 8:3). I pray for Your discernment and wisdom to guide me all my days. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit to walk with me each step of the way to teach me, with understanding, the marvelous gift that You gave me through the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ! I thank You Jesus, and pray these things through Your blessed name! Amen.
